What you'll do on day 3
- After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will meet you in the hotel lobby for a 4-hour excursion to Corcovado and the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.
- You will arrive at the station where an open, environmentally friendly train will take you through the lush forest to the summit of Corcovado Mountain.
- At an altitude of 700 metres above sea level, the summit is home to Rio’s most famous landmark: the 38-metre Christ the Redeemer statue, erected in 1931. From the top of Corcovado, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the metropolis and its surroundings, including the Rio–Niterói Bridge, Guanabara Bay, the Botanical Garden, Maracanã Stadium and Sugarloaf Mountain.
