What you'll do on day 2
- After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will meet you in the hotel lobby for a 4-hour excursion to Sugarloaf Mountain and the historic centre of Rio.
- The excursion begins at Praia Vermelha (Red Beach), where you will take the cable car towards Sugarloaf Mountain, with a first stop at Urca Hill. Its spacious observation deck offers spectacular views across Rio de Janeiro, while restaurants and bars provide places to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
- Continuing to Sugarloaf Mountain, the panoramic views extend across Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Leblon, Guanabara Bay, the Rio–Niterói Bridge and the city of Niterói, as well as the surrounding mountains, offshore islands and the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado.
- The tour then continues by car to the historic centre of Rio, where you will admire its old churches, monasteries and colonial architecture. If time permits, the visit includes São Sebastião Cathedral and the colourful Selarón Steps.
