Our winter operations base. Kuusamo and the Ruka fell sit beside Oulanka National Park, one of the most beautiful corners of Finland — frozen rivers, hanging bridges and the Bear Trail. It is also the best region in the country for brown-bear and wildlife photography hides.

Best time to visit

December to March for snow; May to August for wildlife hides and hiking.

Getting there

Fly to Kuusamo via Helsinki, then a 25-minute transfer to Ruka.
