What you'll do on day 4
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- In the morning, transfer to the railway station (from January 2nd to April 30th, trains Vistadome and Expedition depart only from the stations of Pachar and Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley). Journey on a tourist train to meet one of the seven new wonders of the world. Upon arrival, transfer to a stop where a small bus will take you to the entrance of the "lost city of the Incas," climbing up the winding road with breathtaking views of the Urubamba River canyon (about 25-30 minutes on the way). Machu Picchu (2490 meters above sea level) will greet you with the grandeur of terraces, steps, ceremonial buildings, and residential structures. Everywhere here, there is a strong energy, and the breathtaking views are awe-inspiring. After the guided tour (about 2.5 hours), there is free time for exploration of Machu Picchu. At the appointed time, descend to the village by bus, have lunch (buffet) at a local restaurant, and return to the train station. Return journey by train and transfer to Cusco.
