What you'll do on day 9
- Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer out from Santiago and flight to Calama. Upon arrival, continue by road toward the Bolivian border at Hito Cajón, where your journey into the Altiplano begins.
- From Hito Cajón you enter a landscape that feels like another planet. You will admire the striking Green Lagoon and the magnificent view of Licancabur Volcano rising above the horizon. As you travel onward, you will encounter the mysterious Stone Tree, a surreal rock formation standing alone in the vast desert as if it had fallen from space.
- Continue toward the Aguas Termales de Polques, where you can enjoy a steaming thermal bath — the perfect contrast to the cold morning air of the high plateau. Fully awakened, you will head to the dramatic Sol de Mañana geysers, where jets of boiling steam burst from the earth and pools of bubbling mud create an otherworldly scene filled with energy and movement.
- Your route continues through the Dali Valley, a desert of bizarre stone structures that evoke the surrealist works of the artist himself. Finally, arrive at the spectacular Red Lagoon, home to countless Andean flamingos whose colors stand out against the crimson waters.
- Arrival at Ojo de Perdiz. Accommodation: Desert Hotel (Box Lunch, Dinner).
