What you'll do on day 5
- After breakfast, transfer from your hotel in El Calafate to Puerto Natales, crossing the vast Patagonian steppe toward the Chilean border. During the journey, you will travel through striking landscapes of mountain peaks, wide plains, and wind-shaped hills. Along the way, there is a chance to encounter local wildlife such as guanacos, foxes, rheas (ñandú), hares, and even alpacas grazing in the open fields.
- After completing the border formalities, continue through remote Chilean Patagonia until you reach Puerto Natales, a quiet and charming town located on the shores of the Última Esperanza (Last Hope) Sound. Surrounded by mountains and dramatic fjord scenery, it serves as the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park.
- Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the town, enjoy the waterfront views, visit local cafés, or simply relax before the next day’s excursion.
