For surfing lovers there are perfect beaches where the waves in any weather are high and can reach even up to 2 meters. You can just relax on the beaches, where windsurfing and water skiing are very popular. The island of Santo Alexio, widely known among professional diver, is located a few kilometers from the coast. The resort is also famous for its skatepark, where several skating championships have been held. Maracaipe beach is popular with surfers, and it hosts the world surfing championship. Muro Alto is a huge natural pool formed by reefs over the years – a natural aquarium full of colorful fish. Numerous restaurants and cafes always offer fresh fish dishes. Lovers of night life will find a lot of entertainment in Porto de Galinas, including traditional shows, bars and discos.
