What you'll do on day 3
- Breakfast in the hotel. A half-day (4h) excursion to Corcovado to the statue of Christ awaits you. Arrive at the station, where an open, environmentally friendly train starts, which heads through the jungle to the top of the Corcovado hill. Both sides of the railway offer breathtaking views of the Tijuca forest, which is home to monkeys and other exotic animals and birds. At the top of the Corcovado hill, at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, rises the symbol of Rio - the statue of Christ the Savior (38 m), which was erected in 1931. From the top of Corcovado, a breathtaking panorama of the metropolis and its environs opens up: the Niteroi Bridge, Guanabara Bay, the Botanical Garden, the world's largest Maracanã stadium, the Sugar Loaf and many others.
