What you'll do on day 2
- Breakfast at the hotel. A guide awaits you in the lobby of the hotel. Half-day excursion (4h) to Sugarloaf (Pao de Azucar Mountain) with an English-speaking guide. You go to Praia Vermelha (Red Beach), from where you will take a cable car up the mountain.
- The first stop will be on Mount Urka, which has a wide observation deck. From here, the whole of Rio is in full view! On this observation deck, there are many restaurants and bars where you can have a bite to eat. On the Sugarloaf Mountain itself, there is a smaller area, but it offers a beautiful view not only of Rio, but also of the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leme, Guanabara Bay, the famous Rio-Niterói Bridge and Niterói itself, the architecture of which is associated with the name of the world-famous Nemeira, the statue of Christ the Savior on Mount Corcovado, the surrounding mountains, islands in the ocean.
- Then by car you will go to the central districts of old Rio, where you will admire the ancient churches, monasteries, as well as buildings built in the colonial style. If time permits, visit the Cathedral of San Sebastián and the Selarón Staircase.
