A Finland trip feels like a splurge — but with the right plan it's more attainable than most Indian travellers expect. Here's where the money actually goes.
The big buckets
- Flights (India → Helsinki → Rovaniemi): ₹65,000–₹1,10,000 return, depending on season and how early you book.
- Accommodation: from cosy Arctic cabins to glass igloos. The igloo night is the splurge — worth budgeting one or two, not the whole trip.
- Activities: husky safari, reindeer sleigh, snowmobiling, aurora hunts, Santa Claus Village. This is what you came for.
- Schengen visa: fee plus VFS service charge; budget for travel insurance too.
- Food & extras: Finland is not cheap, but our packages include most meals so there are few surprises.
Where travellers overspend
Booking activities individually on arrival almost always costs more than a bundled DMC package — and the best husky farms and igloos sell out. A planned itinerary locks in availability and a better rate.
Where you can save
- Travel in October–November or March instead of peak Christmas week.
- Do one glass-igloo night, cabins for the rest.
- Book flights 3–5 months out.
