Want to see the Western Balkans in full on one trip? Our 12-Day Balkan Grand Tour is the complete picture — four countries, two seas, UNESCO cities, mountain lakes and canyons, paced so each place has room to breathe. Here's how the fortnight unfolds.

Albania: coast, UNESCO towns and mountains (Days 1–6)

Start in Tirana and follow the Adriatic to Durrës and the "City of a Thousand Windows," Berat. Take the Albanian Riviera — with a wine tasting en route — to the Ionian resort of Sarandë, climb to the Stone City of Gjirokastër, and cross the southern mountains via Përmet and Korçë to lakeside Pogradec.

North Macedonia: lakes and canyons (Days 7–8)

Enter North Macedonia along Lake Ohrid, calling at St. Naum Monastery and UNESCO-listed Ohrid. Then explore Skopje's Old Bazaar and Stone Bridge, the steep Matka Canyon and the colourful Painted Mosque at Tetovo.

Kosovo: Prizren and the White Drin (Day 9)

Cross into Kosovo past the scenic White Drin Waterfall and the capital Pristina, finishing in historic Prizren — an old town of Ottoman streets below a hilltop fortress with sweeping views.

Montenegro: the Adriatic finale (Days 10–12)

Reach the coast at Budva, then the UNESCO old town of Kotor on its dramatic bay, the royal capital Cetinje, and the ruins of Stari Bar and Ulcinj before the loop returns to Tirana.

Who it's for

This is an active, multi-country road journey — ideal for curious travellers who love history, nature and a fresh view each day. Groups stay small (around 8–18), hotels are comfortable 3–4★, and there's plenty of time for sightseeing and photos.
